I never knew how interesting it would be to use a blog. At first I didn't know what to expect but after a while I got used to posting the different types of blogs our class had to do. It was a good way to communicate with your classmates. I really got to know a lot of great people in the class and through our blogs. Everytime I commented on someone's blog, I would always share my real thoughts (just so you know). But im not sure if I will continue blogging. Maybe in the future I will continue to use blogs. Overall it was a great experience that I really enjoyed. Thanks to everyone who shared your thoughts and stories with me. Everyones blogs were great, and everyone has interesting things to say. I want to wish everyone good luck for their goals in life, and see you around everyone. ; )
As for the class it was a wild ride. It seemed to be a really hard class, but as the semester followed I was not as worried anymore. Mrs. Croker is a funny teacher, and even though she does give out plenty of work it has helped me to write better essays and papers. I did'nt think I would enjoy College Compossition as much as I did, but I would really recommend Mrs. Croker to other students. (Don't be intimidated) It's fun as well as educational. Just go for it, and don't be afraid of the class YOU CAN DO IT!
Thank you for showing us new writing skills Mrs. Croker and thanks for your jokes!

TED video post:
After watching the video of Anne Cooper about food in schools from the TED website I learned some interesting facts. She was somewhat agressive in her argument about how we are allowing the new generation to become sick. We allow the food inspection corporations to feed children and people contaminated food. I was astounded how the USDA uses about a dollar a day to feed children in schools around the US. People are getting sick and children are getting sick, yet the USDA rather pay more for other unnecessary projects.
She explains how children in today's generation will have a shorter life span than the older generations. Cooper also adds that if we continue down this path our medical systems will have great changes for the worst. I could not believe the kind of unjust treatment, we the people, have sufferen due to bad decisions by the government. It is not hard to believe since we are busy wasting more money and time on things that are really not that important.
I was inspired into making better decissions on the way I vote, and to also focus more on things that are necessary for our future and health. It is really hard to believe on these ideals when so many people are making such bad decisions for our country, by allowing these kind of actions, or some people are simply ignorant. If it was my choice I would change many things about the way our communities are ran today, but I am not a governor or a president. Overall I found the information on all of the fast food TED videos useful for my upcoming research paper, and would recommend it for others in their research.

Three most important people : )
One of these important people in my life is my mother. She has shown me how to grow and care for myself. She is the person who taught me my manners, teached me how to cook, and how to be very independant. My mom is a strong independant woman since as long as I could remember. Her fun personality and confidence has allowed me and my mother to form a strong mother and son bond. I think I relate more to her than to my father. Probably because I have lived with her my whole childhood.
My dad might have not been there for almost half of my childhood, but he is also very important to me. He has always been there to tell me whats best for me. He is very funny and knows how to make jokes. I might not have much in common with him, but he has been through alot like my mother. I really respect both my parents, even though me and my dad tend to bump heads, he has helped make the person I am today.
Last but not least is my sister. She is the best, most kindest person in the world. I am not saying it because she is my sister, but because she is very passionate about helping others, and people in need. She is the one who I looked up to since I was a kid. I would have thought my big brother would be, but it was her. She has always been there to listen to me and give me a boost when I am feeling down. When I thought no one else believed in me she did. We have always been like twins, but overall I am very greatfull for all of my family. I am thankful for what I have and not for what I wish I did.

Reviewing Amazon Website!
I wanted to show my review on a verry well known website (Amazon.com). Amazon is a website where people could buy and sell many kinds of things like; electronics, cloth, shoes, music, books, items seen on tv etc. It practically sells almost anything at regular, or considerably fair prices. The first month of purchases come with free shipping and handeling. When you chose to get a faster shipping, you might pay a little more, but it ships in two days after ordering stuff. I don't really rely on it for too much because I usually like to go to the stores to buy my things. I like to buy electronics from Amazon, and maybe a few pair of shoes here and there, so using Amazon makes it easy and convinient. Im not saying it is the best site, but I would deffinately recommend it. Sometimes it's better than going to the store when it's too crowded. You can always count on your goods to get delivered on time, and I have never had a problem using it. When you want to buy something you can see many different reviews on the item, and it can help you on your decisions on purchasing an item. There is also some items that are sold used and in great conditions. There is also a way to send gifts to family members who live far from you, and you can choose to have the box look like a gift with a gift card. Overall it is a great website and it can be very helpfull in these upcoming holidays. You should deffinately try it out!.

Bye Bye Fast Food...
Before reading the book Fast Food Nation in class I would eat fast food moderately, due to time consuming tasks and school. I always knew fast food was bad because some people would tell me and I also thought I knew everything there was to know about fast food, but I was wrong. After I read through all of the Fast Food Nation book pages, I could barely believe what I had read. My prespective on fast food had dramatically changed. I really don't eat too much meat and im certainley not vegetarian, but now I know why I was'nt too much into it.
It has always been easy for me get fast food because of the fast service and fair prices. This was also because I was either too busy, lazy, or tired to cook. From now on I have decided to cook my own meals as much as I can. Meat was big part of my family as I grew up, but today I really dont eat too much meat. The thing that I can substitute that is closest to meat would be chicken. Even though I am a little skeptic on chiken as well, I make sure not to get any chicken products from fast food places. It is not hard for me to eat healthy I choose the food that I eat, and I choose to live a life full of health. Food is something we can't live without, but that is why we were given everything edible in the world. We were given fruits, vegetables, and animals as well, but we were also remembered not to abuse of what we have and that is what people have been doing. We are not getting ill by what fast food establishments are giving us, rather than by the way we let things get out of hand. I have decided to eat better and make the better choices, even though I can't completely be vegetarian. Now I am carefull about what foods I eat, and Fast Food Nation has helped me make better decisions.

Here's My Answer(o_o)
The people who guessed that I used to live in a house with some kind of paranormal activity were right. When I was a child growing up, the house I had lived in for most of my childhood I would say, was haunted. Some doors would swing open by themselves, We could hear footsteps on the attic, and one time the lock from the back door would move back and forth rapidly. I could also hear someone talking in the living room, yet no one else was there. Yeah it was prety scary living there, but we were never harmed in any way, just scared. The rest of my answeres were not even close to being true, sorry.
This Semester:
This semester has been somewhat confusing for me. Since it's my first time going to college, I did not know what to expect. I also did'nt want to face the fact that I was not a kid anymore, I am an adult now. It's been hard to keep up with all of the homework, the pressure of getting everything done on time, and the will to study hard, so that I don't fail my classes. I have failed some exams, but that has only made me study even harder. College is not like high school, due to the fact that there are much more deadlines, and you have to learn things much faster. The people here at Oxnard College have been friendly and helpful so far, the people I have met have been friendly and helpful, I am really thankful for all the help I get. When I first started college all other seats were full, now they seem empty. The people who are still here truly want it. Overall everyone is here trying to do the best they can, and we all face our own difficulties. The rest is yet to come, but my motivation is the struggles of many people I have seen throughout my life including my family's. I am grateful for what I have, and giving up is never an option. I know that great things await me in the future and that my dedication will outshine my struggles.

"SUV Debate"
I read the article of "SUV Debate" from the CQ Researcher, and read both the pro and the con. I did not like the argument from the pro section. The con was not completely consistant on the subject, but I would have to agree a little more on it. I think that an SUV can be a useful and safe vehicle to drive, depending on the circumstances. For instance; it depends on a drivers caution and safety regulations on the road. You can't control your surroundings, but you can control the way you drive.
I don't think it's appropriate to argue about the safety regulations of an SUV in oppose to a small car, they are both roughly the same. And yes, it does pose dangers, but then trucks, buses, and other lage commercial vehicles would also be considered dangerous. Now adays all vehicles are built more secure and may have slight disfunctions. But overall im all for driver safety, and SUV's aren't vehicles that pose all the dangers on the road.
And SUV's are very useful for some people. Im not trying to say that SUV's are the best vehicles on the road, simply that we cannot blame SUV's for being dangerous. We all have the right intentions, but we can't blame something for being made the way it is. Like we cant blame motorcycles or trucks for being built the way they are. We should learn how to be more careful on the road.

Family IS Important!
I have always known that family is one of the most important thing in a persons life. It is important from the day you are born. You have to depend on your family to be there whenever you need them. And you must also overcome many obstacles with them. There will be times when you think your family is against you or when they actually understand you. You will have differences and many arguments, but if we didn't have this then how could we expect to grow as people. Even though you won't get along with everyone in your family very well, you must learn how to accept them for who they are.
Having a family that is strict may actually be a good thing, you can learn respect, manners, and independancy. Some people usually dont have many of these things, and lack someone to talk to. But if you have a family you should always be gratefull for what you have, and not for what you wish you had. It is amazing how many things you can learn from everyone in your family. I learned how to be strong in many situations, how to be able to speak up whenever I had to, and how to be responsible for my own actions, so that I wouldn't have to blame anyone for my own mistakes.
Every individual in my family is different and special in their own way. There might be a little competition in between siblings, but it's a normal thing that happens in a family. Someone is always going to want to be the best in the family, but I learned not to let it bother me. For example; sometimes my big brother try's to compete with me in some ways, but I don't let it bother me and he sometimes feels bitter about it, and it's kind of funny. I also have two younger brothers that I make sure I push them to doing the best they can in school. My sister has always been the one that I could conversate with because we have similar thinking, and everyone had always thought we looked like twins. My mother and my dad are very different, and even though they are not the most affectionate parents in the world; they have plenty of ways for showing their love. Even though they are divorced they are both still here, and they are both fun in different ways.
I am very fortunate to have a family that I can talk to, have fun with, and feel welcomed. Yes conflics will arise, and you will have to learn how to handle them as adults, but don't be discouraged. You should know how to avoid problems, and how to be willing to tell your siblings what they are doing wrong; the truth will always hurt, but it's better that you tell them before they get hurt. Overall I think that life starts and ends with family, no matter if it's you and your siblings, you and people who care about you, or you and the person you love. It all comes to one conclusion, "Family".

Essay#1; My first car accident
I remember the time when I and two of my friends decided to go and try out a rock gig. A gig where someone else we knew was playing with his band, and we were invited for free. It was something new, so we decided to try it out. The problem was we didn’t have a car or any source of transportation. One of my friends had said, “Hey, my dad isn’t coming until twelve in the morning we can take his other car, i can get his keys right now”. So we all decided to do what my friend had planned, considering we had to go to Hollywood.
We thought it was a very good idea, and that we could make it back before his dad came back. Since his mother was not there at the moment, everything seemed fine I don’t think she would have noticed her husband’s car was missing. We thought that nothing bad could happen to us, but we were all 16 and ignorant at the moment. We were soon about to realize that was not the case.
As we approached our destination, we were getting lost; it was like we were going in circles. I was beginning to feel a little sketchy. We went through an ally and that was where it all began. While we were coming out of the alley, we saw that there was no car coming from either direction. As we went onward to the alley across from us, and a car came from the near corner of a boulevard which was about 20 feet away.
My friend did not see the car coming, and it was too late for me and my other friend to tell him anything. Everything happened so fast, and we ended up hitting the car on its right side. The car we hit looked like a new Nissan Altima, and I was so shocked that everything seemed blurry for a while. When I was able to gain control of myself, I turned to look at the other car, and saw that we had dented its side. I really could not see the guy’s face, it I knew it was a guy because the hair on the back of his head looked trimmed. Then I turned to look at both my friends, but they were also in a state of shock. Judging from their expression, I knew this was the first time they were involved in a car crash as well. It was all a nightmare, a place I wish I wasn’t in.
Suddenly the other driver pulled over on the side and parked. My friend took it as a chance to escape. There was no time for words, only silence and paranoia. So he stepped on all the gas and the car began to accelerate very fast. I could not believe what was going on, all me and my other friend could do was to try persuade our friend who was driving to stop.
I understood that he did not have a license, and that we were also going to be in big trouble. But I also understood it was wrong. Me and my passenger friend were telling him stuff like, “Hey dude! Slow down”, and “Hey, be careful this is dangerous!”. We went through an intersection and the light was red we thought we were done for. Luckily, we did not cause another accident, or hurt any pedestrian. The street lights and people seemed to be flying by, due to the fact that we were going at about 70 miles per hour on a 30 mile per hour street.
We were being watched over that night, and nothing bad happened to us or anyone else that night. We were also lucky not to have been spotted by a police car, or we would have been in more danger. I kept trying to tell my friend to stop and that we weren’t being followed, when all of a sudden he pulled over. I felt real bad about what we had done to that other car we crashed. But I was also glad in the sense that nobody else was involved in the accident.
My friend turned around and said, “I could not let the car get taken away, and I would have gone to jail too!”. I replied “Let’s just go back!” & my other friend was saying “Yeah, just take it easy, everything is cool!” trying to calm him down. He finally took up the courage to take us back home, but he was still paranoid. When we got back we took a look at my friend’s car, and it didn’t have any dents. The only thing that it had was the license plate was dented.
I opened my eyes to what had happened and was thankful for being protected by danger. After that day, I never got in a car with another teenage friend with no license again. My friend’s dad never found out about what had happened, and until this day I don’t know if he even did. Because I just started to hang out with some other friends. I think it was better for me, I did not want to be doing bad stuff anymore.
I learned my lesson the hard way; I still got in a little bit of trouble now and then, but nothing big. I just lost contact with my friends and moved to Norwalk for a while. I believed on having fun without making the wrong decisions. And now I have my license and I drive responsibly.

An Interview With Monique C.
I had the chance to sit down and interview Monique Cahue one of my classmate for English class. Monique grew up in Oxnard and her parents had no problem with raising her and her sister. She liked to spend time with her family, even though her parents are divorced she has no problem visiting her mom. Since her sister lives with her mom and she lives with her dad. She is glad that she can have both of her parents to talk to and visit, they each have a room for her and her sister so that she can visit whenever she wants. Her biggest role model would have to be her grandmother; even though she passed away she taught her how to be the kind person she is today.
Monique is currently attending Oxnard College to improve all of her skills in learning, and plans to major in math. She is self-described as kind, helpful, and cheerful, which I believe because she had no problem helping me with the interview. She likes to manage her time so that she can do her homework, spend time with her boyfriend, and go to school. In five years she plans to transfer to a school where she can expand her skills at math. She is also interested in learning and getting acquainted with photography, as well as baking or culinary arts, which I also think is interesting.
She also likes to hang out with her friends and watch movies, and trying something new every day. Since she hardly has time to be with her sister, she enjoys the time they talk and convers ate with each other. Her first priority right now is school because she likes to stay focused on her goals. Monique likes to go by the motto; “It will all pay off in the future”. And finally, she is doing very well in school and hopes to keep doing better, by giving it 100%. It was a great opportunity to interview Monique to know a little about her and understand her goals.

Texting everywhere!
Texting is nowadays considered to be one of the most used types of comunication. I also believe everyone does it, even our parent and family members do it. It is very convinient because no one can hear what you talk about. And you can say whatever you want,or however you want. I think the only time it poses some kind of danger is when you do it while you are driving. And it is just something that has been made as a way of life. Some people also send messages to everyone they know, so that they know when an event or something is going on. Overall I think it is useful but should be used for the right reasons.

Reality T.V in my opinion...
I really didn't watch reality T.V shows when I was younger. I think I watched some but I would laugh at what people would do. Some shows were full of fakeness, and others were full of drama. Which is probably why I didn't pay much attention to them. Im not going to lie, but some reality T.V shows are interesting. Not all reality T.V shows portray things that people should be or want to be. So I watch T.V shows sometimes when I get the time. Some reality T.V shows can be informational and keep you up to date as well.
Also, I notice that as reality T.V shows expand; there is all kinds for everyone to enjoy. And that not all are of bad taste. I actually like to sit and watch what people do and say nowadays. It's not like im going to do, and say what people on the television are doing. It all depends if it is insulting to you, or if it's new to you. There will always be something that catches your eye. Even if it's reality cooking, dancing, lives of people, informational, or any source of entertainment, you can always find something to watch.
I think it can be harming for some people, but only if they can't handle a little bit of reality. That's my opinion, and it could definetly be a guilty pleasure for some as well. It's your choice to believe on the ideas people in reality T.V have or not. As I already said it can be harmful to some and benefiting for others. I don't know how older people who lived without much reality T.V think about it, but im sure they have their own opinion of what they believe.
All I can say is, "Don't believe too much what people say". Because in the end it's what you believe and what you like to watch. So decide weather you're harmed by it or if it is your guilty pleasure. For me personaly most of the shows I watch are informational, and I dont spend much of my time on T.V. But my opinions are mine and all opinions are respectable.

Fast Food is BAD...
When i was a little kid my parents would buy me and my brothers fast food every time we asked. My mom actually cooked allot for us, but we did'nt want healthy food, we wanted the greasy good stuff. I remember me and my brothers would get exited when we knew we were getting fast food. It really was true when they said happy meals would make you happy. We really did not understand why fast food was so bad until i began to gain weight. It was the begining of the end for fast food in my book.
I would keep eating fast food until i was 17 years old. That was when i realized i was overweight, i knew i had to do something. I began to eat well and doing exercise. I was able to lose sixty-five pounds and get my life back on track. But i realized that eating fast food was a lose, lose situation. It was just unhealthy and bad for my health, that was when i learned the truth about fast food. That instead of satisfying hunger, it used to make me want more of it.
Now adays i dont really rely on fast food much anymore. Because i used to weight more i resorted to stay away from fast food, only because it was fast, cheap, and tasy. I now cook my own meals or if i do eat outside, i tend to get the healthiest choices. Once in a while i do eat something unhealthy but not too often. Fast food could be like a drug, addicting. But you control what you eat, food does'nt control you. I would not recomend anyone to eat fast food more than once a month, it's not good for you!.

About Me
My name is omar and i used to live in los angeles, CA. When i lived there i used to get in alot of trouble because it was harder living there than it is in oxnard. It's not a bad place i actually like it, the problem was that i got caught up with the wrong group of people. I was not doing so good, i was told that i would not be graduating. So i decided to move to a better place, I moved to Oxnard and found Pacifica High School, my councelor helped me alot, thanks to her help, my family's support, and my determination i was able to graduate.
Now I live in Oxnard, CA it's a calm place to live in, even though i miss the fun of LA. It's been a challenge meeting new people but it was'nt impossible. I dont cosider it hard to talk to everyone because i like to stay possitive. Sometimes i am awkward i'll admit that but everyone is, i still go for it. Right now im focusing on school because i want to achieve my goals, and i feel like i can do "almost" anything right now, im not superman but sometimes i feel that way. I have decided now to throw away my luggage of bad experiences and move on.
I am looking forward to knowing more people, and finishing college. I just want to live life to it's fullest, and would sure like to travel around the world. I would'nt want to stay in one place forever. Like i always say, I just got to start looking for the good things in life and stop settling for less. But one thing is for sure, i am planning for my future and im also waiting to shine. It's not far till i reach the goal i have set for myself.
